AI Agent behavior

Learn how to control AI Agent’s product recommendations, chat style, email sign-ups, and language settings.

AI Agent’s behavior can be customized to fit your store and customer experience. You can limit which products it recommends, set the tone of its conversations, collect customer emails during chats, and select the language it uses.

These settings help ensure AI Agent communicates effectively, highlights the right products, and aligns with your brand voice.


Product rules

Under the Product rules section of the AI Agent dashboard, you can limit which products AI Agent can recommend. In the Product rules section, click the drop-down arrow to expand the options in this section.

Maximum products

In the Maximum products section, you can set the maximum number of products that AI Agent can suggest in a single response.

Click and drag the slider to increase or decrease the maximum number of products.

Excluded products

In the Excluded Products section, you can select any products you don’t want included in recommendations.

Click in the Search products text box to search for and select which products you want to exclude.

You can also check Exclude out of stock products if you don't want AI Agent to recommend anything out of stock.


Email sign up

AI Agent can collect customer email addresses during chat interactions. You can customize the prompt that customers click and the text the AI Agent uses in the interaction. You can also choose to include a discount code.

Note

To include a discount code, it needs to be created outside of the AI Agent.

Steps:

  1. From the AI Agent dashboard, under Email sign up, click the down arrow to open the settings.

  2. Optional: If you want to include a discount code, check Include a discount code and click the drop-down menu, then select it.

  3. Under Customer prompt, enter the text that you want customers click to start the email sign up process. For example, Is there a discount?

  4. Under Email sign up start, enter the text displayed when the email sign-up form appears. For example, Join our mailing list and we'll send you 10% off your first purchase!

  5. Optional: If you live in a GDPR region, you can check Add GDPR checkbox, which adds a box that customers need to check to proceed.

  6. Under Sign up success message, enter the text that displays after the customer submits their email.

  7. Click Save & activate.


Chat tone

You can set the communication style of your AI Agent. In the Chat tone section, click the drop-down arrow to expand the options in this section.

For chat tone, you can select one of the following:

  • Friendly – Warm and approachable

  • Casual – Relaxed and conversational

  • Enthusiastic – Energetic and upbeat

  • Professional – Formal and businesslike


Language settings

You can change the language that the AI Agent communicates in.

Steps:

  1. From the AI Agent dashboard, in the Language settings section, click the drop-down arrow to expand the options in this section.

  2. From the drop-down menu, choose the language that you want to apply to the AI Agent.

  3. Click Save.
