Onboarding guide
Use this guide to orient yourself with Quiz Kit and the features to help you get started.
With Quiz Kit, you can create quizzes that offer customers personalized product recommendations. Use this guide to understand the basics of setting up and publishing your first quiz. By default, Quiz Kit shows pre-built templates as the easiest way to start your first quiz. Templates provide example questions, answers, and designs that you can fully customize to match your brand.
You can also start a quiz from a blank template for full creative control, or use the AI tool to generate questions and answers based on your selected products. Regardless of how you start, all options take you into the same quiz builder to edit questions, results logic, and design.
Note: By default, your first quiz is generated by the Quiz Kit AI.

Installation
To get started building your first quiz, install the Quiz Kit app if you haven’t already.
Free trial
Quiz Kit includes a 10-day free trial so you can explore the app and make sure it fits your business needs. During this period:
Engagements with your quizzes and the AI Shopping Assistant are tracked.
Your usage helps determine the plan tier that offers you the best value (higher tiers = lower cost per engagement).
When the trial ends, your engagement count resets to zero.
Your first bill reflects the tier that matches your trial activity so you start on the right-sized plan.
Pricing and plans
The Scale plan offers all of the Quiz Kit features, with tiered pricing that's based on the number of engagements that customers have with your quiz or quizzes.
Your store is automatically bumped up to the next tier when you hit the upper threshold of engagements for the tier that you're on. Learn more about pricing and plans.
Step 1: Select a template
Note: This tutorial is based on starting your quiz with Quiz Kit's pre-built templates.
Steps:
After you install Quiz Kit, click Create a quiz.
You’ll see the available pre-built templates. Click Use template on the one you want to start with. All templates lead to the same quiz builder.
Or, if you prefer, choose Create a blank quiz and skip to setting up questions and answers.
Step 2: Set up questions and answers
After choosing a template (or starting with a blank quiz), you’ll enter the quiz builder.
Here’s how to structure your quiz content:
Introduction page: Edit the heading, subheading, image, and button that your customers see first.
Questions: Add new questions using the Add page > Question option. For each question, you can configure:
Question settings
Question content
Answer options (add extra answers as needed)
Additional pages: Add Transition pages, Form fields, or Email capture sections if desired.
Editing interface: Click a section in the quiz preview to open the side panel and edit its content.
All changes are saved with the Save button.
Once you’ve added your questions and pages, continue to the Results, Style, and Settings sections to finalize your quiz.

Step 3: Setting up quiz results
The results section is more advanced. Here, you can do the following:
Choose a results logic type or use AI-generated results
Review and refine results pages
Optionally Enable logic jumps to customize paths
Because this can get complex, we recommend checking the dedicated guides:
Step 4: Styling and customizing your quiz
You can quickly style your quiz using the preset theme you chose, or dive deeper with more detailed controls in the quiz builder:
Quiz builder styling: Adjust fonts, buttons, input fields, tooltips, progress bars, and more. Apply styles globally across your quiz or locally to specific pages, questions, or answers for finer control.
Advanced settings: Personalize features like discount codes or quiz behavior.
Custom code: If you have some developer resources, you can add your own CSS or JavaScript for a fully branded experience.

Tip:
You can click any section in the quiz preview to edit it. The editing panel opens on the right, letting you adjust headings, text, images, buttons, and more without navigating away.
If you're confident with code, then you can add custom CSS and JavaScript to your quiz for a more branded appearance. Learn more about adding custom CSS and JavaScript.
Step 5: Previewing and testing
In the quiz builder you can Preview what your quiz looks like to customers, and click through it to review questions, logic, and test the user experience.
Click the display toggle to see what the customer experience looks like on mobile vs desktop:

When you’re done, click Edit and publish.
Step 6: Publishing your quiz
From the Quiz customization page, you can review your quiz again, make further customizations, and when you’re ready, publish it.
To publish your quiz, click Publish at the top of the page, then click the toggle beside This quiz is currently in draft to publish it. A quiz page is generated in your Shopify Pages section that you can link to.
