The Points logic type recommends results based on a certain sum of points that a customer accumulates from each quiz answer they choose.

You need to set point values for each answer, then create point value ranges for each result. Customers needs to accumulate a certain number of points with their answers to be recommended certain results.

Changing the results logic type

You can adjust the results logic on any quiz that has been created with a blank template.

Steps:

  1. From the quiz builder, click Settings.

  2. Click Recommendations.

  3. Under Results Logic, click the drop-down menu for logic options, and click Points.

  4. Click Save.


Setting up Points results logic

To set up Points results logic, you need to assign each of your quiz answers a number of points (a numerical value). You also need to assign each quiz result a points range (ex. 5-10 points). Customers accumulate answer points while they answer your quiz and fall into one of your results points ranges at the end of the quiz, which determines their results.

Step 1: Assigning points for your answers

  1. From the quiz builder, click the Quiz tab.

  2. Click the question, then the answer that you want to assign points to.

  3. On the right-hand menu, under Points, enter a number that this answer is worth.

  4. Click Save.

Step 2: Creating results and assigning a points range

  1. From the quiz builder, click Results.

  2. From the left-hand menu, click Add result, and give the result a name under Result name on the right-hand menu.

  3. Select the results that you want displayed for this path.

  4. On the left-hand menu, click Points, then click Edit on the right-hand menu.

  5. Assign numerical values in the From and To text fields for the range of points you want this result to cover.

  6. Click Save.

Repeat the steps for all of your answers and results.


Result outcome types

For a Result weight logic result, you can choose from several different outcome types. When you set up a new path, you need to set up the outcome type under the Outcome section.

  • Product: Provide product suggestions tailored to your customers' responses.

  • Collection: Provide a specific collection of products tailored to your customers' responses.

  • Tags: Choose tag(s) to be assigned to your customer according to their responses.

  • Text: Write a message to appear on the results page according to your customers' responses.

Before you start, it's helpful to understand the result that you can choose for the results page.

Click Outcome, and from the right-hand menu, select an for this result path.
