Creating a quiz
Learn how to create a quiz, and the difference between the AI template and blank template options.
After you've installed the Quiz Kit app and selected a plan, you can create your first quiz. You can choose between starting with a blank quiz template, a pre-built template, or with the Quiz Kit AI tool.

Choosing a quiz method
You can start your quiz three ways:
Blank quiz: Build entirely from scratch, giving you full control over questions, answers, and design.
Pre-built template: Start with an example quiz to save time and inspiration, then customize it as needed.
Quiz Kit AI tool: Quickly generate questions and answers based on your selected products, with optional manual edits.
All three methods take you into the quiz builder to edit, style, and publish your quiz. Here, you only choose how to get started.
Steps:
From the Quiz Kit dashboard, click Create a new quiz.
From the drop down, select one of the following:

Option 1: Build from a blank template
Starting with a blank template offers the most creative freedom in shaping the theme and messaging of your quiz.
If you choose to start with a blank template, then you're directed to the quiz builder page.
Steps:
From the Quiz Kit dashboard, click Create a new quiz > Create a blank quiz.
From the quiz builder, on the left-hand menu, click Introduction. This is the first page your customers encounter during the quiz.
Click on each sub-section (Heading, Subheading, Image, and Button) to familiarize yourself and edit each section. You can also click the section in the quiz preview that you want to edit. Editing options appear on the right-hand side for each sub-section.
Click Add page, then choose Question. In this section, you have the sub-sections:

Answers
Click through each option and its menu settings and adjust as needed. Optional: You can add additional answers by clicking Add answer.
Optional: You can add additional questions by following repeating step 3. You can also choose to add additional pages such as Transition page, Form field, or Email capture.
When you're done, click Save to save your changes.

Option 2: Build from a template
You can use a pre-built template as a starting point for your quiz. Templates provide examples of what’s possible within Quiz Kit and help you get started faster.
After selecting a template, you can customize the questions, answers, results logic, and design settings in the quiz builder.
Steps:
From the Quiz Kit dashboard, click Create a new quiz > Create from a template.
Under each template, you can click:

Once you click Use template on the template of your choice, you can proceed to:
Option 3: Build with Quiz Kit's AI tool
Step 1: Selecting products
To build your quiz with the AI tool, first you need to tell Quiz Kit AI which products you want to suggest as recommendations based on the quiz questions. These products will be recommended to your customers after they complete a quiz.
You can choose from an existing Collection in your store, Best Sellers, or you can select individual Products.
Best Sellers The Quiz Kit AI can select up to 30 top-selling products based on the analytics from your Shopify admin dashboard.
Collection - Choose specific product collections.
Best Sellers - Top 30 performing products from your Shopify admin dashboard.
Products - Select up to 100 individual items.
When you’ve made your selection, click Save and continue.
Step 2: Generating your quiz
The Quiz Kit AI recommends quiz questions and answers based on the products that you selected in Step 1. You can change the language and tone of the quiz by adjusting the Language and Tone drop-down menus and then clicking Regenerate.
Note: A lock icon appears when you hover over a question. Click it if you want to lock that question block from changes before regenerating the rest of the fields with the Regenerate button. You can unlock it by clicking the lock again.
You can also manually adjust the AI-generated answers to your preference or click the + sign under each question to create custom answers.
When you’re happy with the questions and answers, click Save and continue.
Step 3: Designing and customizing
You can customize your quiz with different styles using Quiz Kit’s premade design templates.
Click on each of the preset style templates on the right-hand menu to update the heading, body, and button styles. Learn more about customizing your quiz.
Note: If you're confident with code, then you can add custom CSS and JavaScript to your quiz for a more branded appearance. Learn more about adding custom CSS and Javascript.
When you’re happy with the look and feel of your quiz, click Save and continue. The Quiz Kit AI generates your personalized quiz.
Step 4: Previewing, testing, and publishing your quiz
When you're done building your quiz, previewing it, testing it via a test email, and publishing it are all essential steps before your quiz is live to customers.
On this page, you can review the quiz's questions and logic and test the user experience on different devices.
Click the display toggle to see what the customer experience looks like on mobile vs desktop.
When you’re done, click Edit and publish.
