By default, a newly created quiz with a blank template is set up with the Basic logic type.

With Basic logic, results are mapped to an answer path that the customer has to select to reach that result. In other words, the customer needs to select certain answers to each question to get a specific result.

This option requires you to manually link a series of questions and answers to products that are recommended on the results page.

In this section:

Changing the results logic type

You can adjust the results logic on any quiz that has been created with a blank template. If you have previously switched your results logic type, then you will need to switch it back to Basic logic.

Steps:

  1. From the quiz builder, click Settings.

  2. Click Recommendations.

  3. Under Results Logic, click the drop-down menu for logic options, and click Basic (default).

  4. Click Save.

Choosing a result outcome type

For a Basic logic result you can choose from several different outcome types. When you set up a new path, you need to set up the outcome type under the Outcome section.

  • Product: Provide product suggestions tailored to your customers' responses.

  • Collection: Provide a specific collection of products tailored to your customers' responses.

  • Tags: Choose tag(s) to be assigned to your customer according to their responses.

  • Text: Write a message to appear on the results page according to your customers' responses.

Setting up Basic logic results

Step 1: Setting up a result outcome

  1. From the quiz builder menu, click the Results tab.

  2. From the left-hand menu, click Add result, and give the result a name under Result name on the right-hand menu.

  3. Select the results that you want displayed for this path.

  4. Click Save.

Step 2: Setting up a result path

  1. From the left-hand menu, click Path.

  2. From the right-hand menu, under each of your quiz questions, click Choose an option, and select the answers to that question that you want to lead to this outcome. You can add more than one.

  3. Click Save.

You can repeat this process to create as many result outcomes as you want.

If you have different results that have similar outcomes or paths, then you can save time by clicking the Duplicate button beside a result to duplicate it.
